Every student will achieve their requirements in the amount of effort they put into it. The amount of effort they put into it will determine to see if him/her will reach their certain goal they would want to achieve.

 

Optical Laboratory Technician

Duties and Responsibilites; Optical laboratory technicians grind and fit eyeglass lenses into frames according to precscription written by ophthalmologist or optometrist. Some ophthalmic technicians work in optical laboratories or for optometrist or ophthalmologist. Many work in retail stores that have optical departments.

Salary;  $15,000 - $ 20,000

Education; a high school diploma or GED certificate is need to begin optical laboratory training. Training program last between six month and one year and provided by vocational schools and community colleges.

Ophthalmologist

Duties and Responsibilities:  Ophthalmologist is physicians who specialize in the treatment of eye disorders and diseases. They treat vision problem and write prescription both pharmaceuticals and corrective eyeglass lenses. Most ophthalmologist are in private practice, however some are employed by hospitals or clinics, and other perform research.

Salary: $90,000 - $150,000

Education:  Only physicians may study to become Ophthalmologist. After completing medical school and internship, and ophthalmologist must then complete a three to five year residency in an approved ophthalmology program. After completing their residence program they must pass an examination to be certified

Student Success Statement

“Hold yourself responsible for a higher standard than anybody else expects of you. Never excuse yourself”

Act like how you would act yourself; be higher than what you think you can be. Show the people that didn’t think they would expect so much or so little that they are wrong. Have high expatiation; don’t let anything or anyone bring you down from what you are doing. There shouldn’t be excuses for you not to act a certain way, nothing should stop you.

-      Just cause you don’t like a certain class and you decide not to do your work and you end up getting a bad grade. You shouldn’t blame it on the teacher saying him / her doesn’t like you. It was you who was responsible for that.

Ophthalmic Technician

Duties and Responsisiblites : Ophthalmic technicians or technologist help pathologist collect data and measurements to allow the correct diagnosis and treatment of eye diagnosis and problems. They work at hospitals, clinics. Their duties often are performing simple eye exams , assisting with eye surgery.

Salary: $14,000 - $25,000

Education: Students will need a high school diploma, and two years of college prior to beginning ophthalmic training programs. These programs may vary in length, but can take up to two years to complete.

Operating Room Technician

Duties and Responsibilities:  Operating room technicians are also called surgical technologists. They assist in preparing operating room for surgery. They are responsible for having surgical instruments , they deliver specimens to hospital laboratories  for analysis and after operation they take patients to the recovery room.

Salary : $16,000 - $22,000

Education: A high school diploma or GED certificate is required. Many vocational and junior college offer programs in operating room technology and training may be also taken at large hospitals
