Genetic Counselor

Duties and Responsibilities: As a genetic counselor you work at hospitals, universities, private clinics etc. Genetic Counselors determine risk factors for hereditary diseases and disorders in patients.

Salary: Genetic Counselors amount they earn is around $49,646 -$65,168.

Education: To become a Genetic Counselor you must complete a master degree program in Genetic counseling. In the Graduate program they will learn about different things like:

·         Molecular genetics

·         Genetic screening

·         Counseling ethics and techniques

·         Research methods

·         Birth defects

I personality don’t think I would like to be a Genetic Counselor, doesn’t really catch my attention to be that. Ill rather stay as becoming a RN than a Genetic Counselor, I like the duties and Responsibilities as a RN.

Envirmental Health Specialist

Duties and Responsibilities:

Sanitarians, or environmental health specialists, enforce government regulations and advise and educate clients. They also improve water and sanitation facilities and are involved in improving the quality of community environments. They often: 

·         Collect and analyze samples.

·         Screen sampled for possible health hazards.

·         Design or manage sanitation, disposal, and water systems

·         Oversee disposal of infectious wastes

·         Develop and manage prevention and education programs.

·         Evaluate and identify health hazards and ensure compliance with regulations.

Educational Requirements:

Students should take college preparatory courses, epically in mathematics and science during high school. A career as a sanitarian or environmental health specialist requires a minimum of a bachelor’s Degree in environmental health or environmental engineering. Many jobs require certification and/or a Master’s Degree in these, or related fields.

Emergency Medical Technician

Duties and Responsibilities:

Emergency medical technicians, or EMT’s, usually work in teams of two in specially designed ambulances. They provide immediate life or limb saving medical treatment at the scenes of accident and injures as well as transport casualties to hospital emergency rooms for further care. The job is physically demanding and stressful. Emergency 

medical technicians often respond to:

   Ø  Automobile accidents                                

Ø  Heart Attacks

Ø  Gunshot wounding

Ø  Unscheduled childbirth

Ø  Drowning’s

Educational Requirements:

Students must have a high school diploma (in some areas GED certificate may be substituted) in order to become an emergency medical technician. Driver’s education, health and science courses are strongly recommended and may be required before enrolling in some training programs. Basic emergency technician training includes about 100-120 hours spent in the classroom and 10 hours in a hospital emergency room. Emergency medical technicians are required to pass a state licensing or certification tests and participate in continuing education programs. Many emergency medical technicians earn associate degrees in their filed.

Electroneurdiagnostic Technologist

Electroneurdiagnostic technologists use electronic graphs to determine if patines are suffering from a central nervous system condition or disease like epilepsy, tumors, stroke, or trauma. The graphs are records of the brain’s electrical activity. Electroneurodiagnostic technologists usually work in hospitals, laboratories, or physicians’ offices. They:

Prepare medical records

·         Apply electrodes and select instrument settings

·         Perform Electroneurogiagnostic test

·         Adjust and maintain their equipment

·         Record test results

·         Identify patient abnormalities

Educational Requirements:

Electroneurdiagnostic technologists must have a high school diploma and  some courses in computer technology before beginning specialized training. Electroneurodiagnostis training can be obtains through vocational schools, community colleges, and in some cases hospitals. Training takes one year and is followed by another year of supervised experience. Before beginning practice electroneurgiagnostic technologist must pass written and oral examinations.

Electrocardiograph (ECG or EKG) technicians usually work under the supervision of cardiologist  in hospitals, doctors offices, clinics or bedside. They operate electrocardiogram equipment to monitor patient’s heart problems. They:

·         Insert and remove catheters

·         Monitor equipment output

·         Record test results

·         Identify emergencies or abnormalities

Educational Requirements:

Electrocardiograph technicians must have a high school diploma or GED before beginning specialized training. Electrocardiograph training can be obtained through vocational schools, community colleges, and in some cases through on the job supervises experience. Basic training takes three to six months. Advances training takes one to two years.

“The pros and Cons of Social Media”

The technology of Social Media can also result in problems, fights and get bully. Using social media you can meet other new people. Meeting new people you have no idea who they are. They can actually lie about their age and that’s what’s been happening daily. News sources have reported that teenagers meet new people through Social Media and the people they meet tell them they’re around the age of 15 when they’re actually like a 40 year old pedophiles. I personally believe that once you start to get the hang of Facebook, Twitter, Etc. you start to get “addicted “to it. Starting fights on Social Media with people you don’t even know telling them “I hate you” etc. and easily get away with it.

Once you start using Social Media it’s hard to stop using Social Media, you at a point get addicted to it. Not just Social media but using Technology, it’s like everywhere you go there won’t be a decent time that you won’t see teenagers using their phone. Technology distracts you from a lot of your own leisure activities like physical involvement, nutrition and dieting, enjoying the outdoors, and more.

Social Media can be good when you have your friends, family that you can are distance that can’t actually talk or socialize, you can always chat with them online.
