Glenn Cunningham
Glen Cunningham was born in Atlanta Kansas.
He’s legs were burned in an explosion caused by someone who had put gasoline
instead of kerosene in the can at his schoolhouse by accident. The explosion
was bad enough that the doctors had recommended amputating his legs but his
parents didn’t allow the doctor to do it. The doctors had said that he might
not be able to walk normally again. Glenn Cunningham lost all his flesh on his
knees and lost all his toes on his left foot. In summer 1919 he had then tried
to walk again, he had a positive attitude. In 1932 he compete the summer Olympics
as well as the 1936 Summer Olympics. He was voted as most popular athlete. Glen
Cunningham never gave up on what he loved doing, he didn’t let the explosion
that had burned his legs stop him from running Olympics.
